Says here there was a diphtheria epidemic in 1925 that threatened the tiny, remote town of Nome Alaska. Most at risk were the children, especially the native Inuit kids who had never been exposed to the disease and had no immunity to it. The only way to save the children was to rush medicine nearly 700 miles away. And the only way to do it was by dog sled. Through Arctic blizzard conditions, 20 dog sled teams and over 100 woofers made the trip in 5-1/2 days. The kids were saved! Where's Nome? Up near the North Pole, I think. The North Pole?! Where Santa lives?!! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?! Apparently not. Gotta get my Christmas list to Santa and time! Now, mush!
