Doctor: You're in good health. But you may be about to develop a condition that's not covered by your health insurance. Patient: Then I'll get coverage. Doctor: You can't afford that coverage. Patient: Then I'll make my employer pay for it. Doctor: Then he'll drop your insurance altogether. Patient: Then I'll get the government to pay for it. Doctor: That will cause taxes to go up and put your employer out of business. Patient: Then I'll just wait till they find a cure. Doctor: Oh, they found one. But you can't afford the prescription. Patient: Stop! You're making me crazy! Doctor: That's the condition not covered. Patient: I'm just not going to think about it. Doctor: That's how everybody else is handling it.
