Fascism did not come to Germany when Hitler became chancellor. It arrived with the Enabling Act, which abolished the requirement that he obey the constitution. The enabling act was a law passed by the Reichstag, the German parliament. It said simply that any law proposed by Hitler was automatically became a rubber stamp, the dictatorship was established. (Hitler: Thanks. This is easier and simpler) . This year, for the first time in history, the Republican Party decided not to issue a platform. Instead, it issued a simple statement that abolished the requirement that the presidential nominee obey party principles: "the republican party has and and will continue to enthusiastically support the president's America-first agenda." In other words, any policy that Trump wants is automatically approved by the Republican Party. (Donald Trump: Thanks. What could go wrong?)
