She had a memory like a steel trap. I saw it when we visited a french town where she lived at age 3, in 1938. (Woman: I feel like the house was around here.) (Man: Mom. You were 3) Piture perfect. She always just knew. (Woman: Sorry to bother you, Ma'am, but I think I lived here... yes! I remember the sitting room to the right!! Through the garden to the left is a pear tree, roots half in the river...) She was right, of course. And now she has Alzeimer's and she knows who I am but sometimes she calls me "Josh" and I just can't understand it even though I get it. (Woman: Give me... that... thing?)
