Alzeimer's is highly correlated with balance problems. All too often, my Mom falls for no apparent reason. That's when she breaks. (Man: Why'd you fall?) (Woman: I don't know...) It's also associated with impulsivity and wandering. She hasn't begun to heal from her broken hip or arm, yet she's determined to get up and go. (Woman: Help me, up!) Federal Law prohibits nursing homes from restraining her. It's well-intentioned legislation designed to stop elder abuse. But it means she will keep falling. All I can do is wait and dread my phone for her area code.
