This society pours on the pressure. They do everything they can to stress you out. (Woman: $400 for 66 in a 55?! That's a weeks pay!) (Police Officer: I had a quota) They make you feel totally alone and hopeless. (Man: Do you have health insurance? If not, just the ambulance ride'll be two grand.) The message to individuals is clear: no one cares about you: drop dead. (Man 2: What if I can't find another job?) (Man 3: Not my problem) But if you take the next step- if you commit suicide after they drove you to it- they reverse course. (Police Officer: Don't do it! We care about you!!!) Maybe we should try life encouragement before suicide prevention. (Woman: Congrats! We've cured your depression! You owe us $35,000.
