Ted Rall V. LA Times Lawsuit Update Woman: How did your lawsuit end up? Man: "End"? It hasn't really started yet. After the Times fired me for the LAPD in 2015, they filed an "anti-slap" to stop form being held at all accountable. Woman: Anti-Slapp? Isn't that for individuals to fight frivolous lawsuits by big companies? Man: Theoretically. The L.A. Times was owned at the time by the "Ironic" Corporation. Now it's a $9 billion biotech billionaire's toy. Woman: What's the worst that could happen? Man: They win Anti-slapp. They get a $600,000 judgement against me for attorney's fees. They freeze my bank account. I can't eat because I can't deposit checks. Woman: You're scared! Man: Not as much as they are.
