The republican supreme court has upheld Ohio's republican-backed "use it or lose it" voter purge law. If you skip voting in 2 elections they mail you a postcard... that looks like junk mail so you'll probably chuck it. Unless you sign the verification postcard you're de-registered to vote. This fiendish system could also be used to disenfranchise people in all sort of novel and interesting ways. You skipped mass twice so you're excommunicated. Two happy hours in a row - and you were a no-show. We even mailed you a postcard! But you never mailed it back. Maybe A.A. will take you - but don't skip a meeting. Coming soon: disenfranchisement for voting too often. You voted in the school board election and the bond issue? Could you be more of a pig?! Your voter registration is toast! Give someone else a chance!
