I knew the layoffs were that day from the huge rent-a-goons sitting in the lobby. Subtle. They brought us into a conference room. (Woman: You have to sign this severance agreement to get your severance pay.) I would've gotten $5,700. But there was a non-disclosure clause in the agreement banning me from talking about united media. (Man: And this "non-compete would block me from working in print media?) (Woman: It's fine. Just sign it. We won't enforce that. Maybe.) So I get why victims of sexual harassment sign non-disclosure agreements. I didn't sign- but no one should be asked to. They should be illegal. (Woman 2: We want to put this matter behind us. The company admits no wrong-doing.
