General: Torture is too important for one man to stand in its way. Woman: Typical American excess! Man: No wonder they're in trouble! Punk: Waterboarding is so medieval! We told those old fogies to go digital, but they didn't listen. Aid: We're so unhappy with the quality of the torture at GITMO that we're transferring our victims to Bagram, Afghanistan. Obama: I could just die. The chairman of the U.S. torture camp network has resigned under pressure from Obama. Otherwise, federal funding would have been cut off. Critics say America's outdated tortures concentrated too much on big, flashy concentration camps while nimbler foreigners focused on cheap torture-like beatdowns. The U.S. torture industry ignored countless warnings that it needed to modernize. Now it's downright embarrassing.
