Because of the media's inexorable shift to the right. Obama's pre-november centrism is now considered the equivalent of socialism. (Barack Obama: Of Bush's two wars, I only dislike one.) (Man 1: Unless he changes course, he'll be a stalinist by January.) The center: It just feels right. (Barack Obama: Somewhere in Afghanistan, there's a wedding going unbombed.
