Adherents of rival architectural design movements, saying they find the dominant post-modernist approach "offensive," are fighting in court for access to public spaces. State-sponsored aesthetic favoritism is unfair to architects who prefer out-of-favor design movements. This Gothic architect sued when her design for a stone post office was deemed "too costly" and rejected. How hard is it to rib along the intersection of pointed arches? Will America lose the war on postmodernism? No one knows. In the meantime, say visual libertarians, it's best to avoid taking sides. The best design is no design. You can't offend anyone if you build without an underlying theory. Pro-internationalists have joined the fray. Baroque anachronistic! Glass and plastic boxes suck!
