Sports columnists want the National Football league to honor former Arizona cardinals safety Pat Tillman, Shot by fellow U.S. troops by retiring his number 40 league wide. Others say the NFL shouldn't get involved in politics. Tillman had been used by Bush to promote the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Tillman served in both wars. (Man: This uniform is a copy. Bush burned the original during the cover-up) There's yet another problem Tillman isn't the only NFL player to have died in combat. Don't the others deserve the same honor? (Bush: He was shot by a 40 cent bullet and he came back in a $4,000 coffin- sign up and you'll get the same odds!) Tillman is a hero to liberals because he was antiwar and to conservatives because they don't know that. But there's a perfectly good reason his number won't be retired. (Man: We lost 19 players in World War II and 2 vietnam. If we keep retiring numbers, we'll have to go to 3-digit unifroms!)
