In August 1964, North Vietnamese PT boats fired torpedoes and shells at the US destroyer Maddox. That's for Ho Chi Minh, imperialist dogs! A few days later, congress passed the Tonkin gulf resolution, authorizing LBJ to take "all necessary action" in Vietnam. As a citizen, I feel I must support our president whether his decision is right or wrong. Sen. George Aiken (R- VT.) Right on, groovy man! A decade passed. 1.1 million Vietnamese and 58,000 Americans died. Our economy crashed. And it was all for nothing - we lost. He was my lover, my best friend and the kindest man I've ever known. Now this listing is all that's left of him. Oh, and by the way: LBJ lied. North Vietnam never attacked us at Tonkin. It's different this time... Bush isn't even bothering with an excuse! At least LBJ respected us enough to lie.
