The results are in. If the U.S. Supreme court hadn't stopped the Florida recount, Bush would have won the election. (George Bush: If 493 votes isn'ta mandate, what is?) But the Supreme Court had no business taking the case, states, not the feds, run elections. So the Florida state Supreme Court had the final say. (Man: Sssssssure, George... we'll take the case!) And once the U.S. Supreme Court, took the case illegally, they cynically ran out the clock for 3 days, making a recount impossible to finish on time. Ultimately, of course, the U.S. Supreme Court wouldn't have corrupted itself or the election if Bush hadn't filed the appeal. (Woman: Itsn't it hypocritical for us to sue Gore? After all, we Republicans are against litigation.) (George Bush: So?) Bush would have won if he'd let Democracy take its course. (Man 2: Make no mistake, George: if you let them count the votes, you might not win. There's too much money invested in that to take that chance!) Instead, he chose to lose. (George Bush: 493! 493!)
