No one cared about children... then the boomers started having them. Now you can get anything you want simply by appealing to parental instincts. (Man: The only way to see good kids safe is to execute bad kids immediately- killing kids is good for kids!) It's gotten so that nothing gets done anymore unless it can be spun as a pro-kid initiative. (Woman: Our proposed acquisition of consolidated modem will reduce inefficiencies in the market thus making capitalism better for our children and our children's children.) There are those who deride the cheap sentimentally of the current "save the children" mentality, but they needn't worry... (Man: How can you wear a shirt like that? Think of the children? Think of the rich children! Think of my rich children!) Soon they'll have kids of their own....
