New evidence shows that the current economic expansion has left millions of Americans unemployed! (Man: It's a stunning, silent, sordid statistic that exposes the truth behind the so-called "boom!") For instance, the cato institute says that 53% of white males aged 16 to 19 were out of work during the summer of '97- and that number was 77% for blacks! (Woman: Are you nuts? Those are kids! Kids aren't supposed to work!) (Man: Idle teens shoot their neighbor!) And while teen kids go jobless, the unemployment rate for infants, toddlers and newborns is nearly 100%. (Woman: Child labor is criminal! An economy that "fails" to create child labor isn't doing anything wrong!) Unemployed children: The dark side of an ageist boom for adult Americans! (Man: What kind of society lets its kids sit around, playing games all summer long? A sick one, that's what kind!)
