Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Tales of the Resistance Paris, 1943 Man: You have proven yourself worthy. You are now a member of the Resistance, and may join our fight against the amoral despot who has seized control of our nation. Man #2: It is my honor. I will fight to my dying breath against this monster. Man #1: Then follow me. Man #2: What first? Shall we blow up a bridge? Destroy railroad tracks? Are we going to an underground hideout to plan? Man #1: No, to my job as a senior official in the Vichy administration, collaborating with Nazis. This is my new assistant. Man #2: Ah, we destroy this hideous administration from within! Man #1: Destroy? No, we work from within to save Nazis from their worst impulses. Man #1: This agricultural policy is misguided. Stand lookout while I change the output targets. Man #2: Uh... Man #2: Wait, why aren't we fighting to END this nightmare? Man #1: Well, we want to continue the good work being done cutting taxes and rounding up Jews! Man #3: Vive la resistance! NEXT Man #1: Take this anonymous Op-Ed to the newspaper. Our heroism really should be recognized!
