Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Presents: News of the Times Defection Gives Grub Party Control of Group Mid-level chimpanzee FRECKA caused a seismic shift in the balance of power of the GROUP-BY-THE-GREAT-WATER when he renounced his alliance with the ROUND-FRUIT PARTY, throwing control of the group to the GRUB PARTY! Frecka explained that he can no longer abide by the Round-Fruit party's tolerant policies toward infanticide. However, many insiders trace the origins of the move to a number of SLIGHTS, such as Round-Fruit leader Bobo's snubbing Frecka's invitation to engage in social grooming. Further, when a Round-Fruit juvenile directed a branch-dragging display at Frecka, he was incensed and insulted to find no backing from Round-Fruit elders. A Grub Party operative saw an opportunity and made overtures to Frecka with pant-grunts and submissive displays. Monkey: Oo! Oo! Oo! The Grub Party's gain from the defection cannot be overemphasized.
