Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling MEMO TO: ALL BLACK NFL PLAYERS In acquiescence to various Tweets from the President of the United States, the NFL is instituting these new rules regarding your stances during the National Anthem. NFL UNACCEPTABLE SITTING This has been deemed disrespectful to our troops. KNEELING Once considered a compromise, as a thoughtful pose of reflection, this has drawn the ire of the president. STANDING, FIST RAISED This still shows an unbecoming defiance and disobedience that the president finds distasteful. We want you up, but not this far "up". ACCEPTABLE STANDING This posture demonstrates capitulation to the president. You're willing to "play ball", and then play ball! STANDING, ARMS LOCKED WITH TEAMMATES This position not only shows obedience, it shows you're all about team unity, so you can win some football games! LYING DOWN Only acceptable if you've been shot by a police officer during the anthem. Please refrain from further threatening movements until the anthem has concluded.
