Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Billy Dare Boy Adventurer with Quentin in SMUGGLERS' CAPE Ch. IXCV: The Power of Plot Requirements Billy: There he is! Villain: Ha! You are too late, Billy Dare! Villain: Once I step into my Narratron Machine, I will have unimaginable powers! Villain: I can feel it working! Second Act power coursing through my veins! Villain: It is done! I now have the power to win ANY BATTLE in which my victory is required to advance the plot! Villain: Fools! You're no match for me now! Billy: Quentin! We're trapped! Criminal: Ha! The plot REQUIRES tension created by my seeming invincibility! Villain: And now, your doom is sealed! Villain: Billy Dare shall thwart my plans no more! BAM Villain: Huh?! My punches felled three soldiers! Billy Dare is merely stunned? He's a BOY! Billy: Unh... Billy: Of course! Look, your Narratron Machine wasn't even plugged in! Villain: What? Billy: ALL of the villains I face have just enough power to do anything that meets the requirements of my story's plot... Billy: ...and so do I! POW Billy: And that climactic punch must mean that this panel is... ...THE END!
