Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Lucky Ducky The Poor Little Duck Who's Rich In Luck in "Better Satire, Please" Hound: ...and so I decided to run for president myself! A Fundraiser in Houndsville's Swanky "Rat's Mouth" Neighborhood - Hound: After all, who better to lead America's economy than a successful businessman? Hound: Of course, I'll never get the votes of 47% of Americans! Hound: They don't pay taxes, and I'll never convince them to take responsibility for their lives! Lucky Ducky: Are you done with your dessert? Old Hound: Yes, yes. Hound: They're totally dependent on the government! Lucky Ducky: Pardon me. Hound #2: More wine, please. Lucky Ducky: Right away. Hound: They feel they're victims and entitled... Critic Hound: STOP! THIS HAS GONE TOO FAR!! Hound: Huh? Critic Hound: As a COMICS CRITIC, I must say, this satire in this comic strip is OVER-THE-TOP! Critic Hound: A billionaire candidate whose business success involved massive layoffs, and who pays a ridiculously low tax rate?? Critic Hound: And he denigrates those too POOR to pay federal income tax as entitled MOOCHERS?! "Lucky Duckies"?! Critic Hound: I find the entire scenario heavy-handed, cliched, and wholly implausible! Lucky Ducky: So, we won't need the fancy dancing horse for the PUNCHLINE? Horse: Can the car-elevator guys go home? Critic Hound: WHO'S WRITING THIS STUFF?!! The End
