doug: max, i'm announcing my new diet. it's totally harm-free to all living things. max: you mean vegetarian? doug: ah, but vegetables are living things, and i will not kill them to satisfy my base cravings. max: not even vegetables? doug: nothing organic shall ever pass my lips! max: but everything you eat has to be organic! doug: au contraire! there is one food that is made of nothing that was ever living!! doug: i speak, of course, of marshmallows! max: what are marshmallows made of anyway? doug: i'm not sure. i think they're a byproduct of the oil refining process... marshmallows, the polyester of foods, is the one wholly moral food! max: but won't you get sick of eting just marshmallows? doug: nonsense! they're a surprisingly versatile staple! here's a typical week's dinners... monday doug: simple and elegant -- right out of the bag! tuesday doug: the calssic: roasted! wednesday doug: marshmallow taffy -- just mush it up! thursday doug: "fluff," right out o' the jar! fluff friday doug: rice krispies treats -- hot out of the oven! max: now hold on, doug! rice krispies?! and besides, i think marshmallows are made of corn syrup and gelatin... doug: ah, quit yer nitpickin'!
