Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Presents: News of the Times Beached Lobbyists Confound Experts Throughout Maryland and Virginia, and as far away as New Jersey, wayward lobbyists are turning up beached in unfamiliar territory, spurring a massive effort to save them. Woman: What th...? Man #1: I'll have the porterhouse, Pittsburgh rare. Man #2: Send me your organization's details, and I'll arrange the "donation." Why have these magnificent creatures wandered from their natural habitat in Washington, DC? Man: If you know what's good for you, you'll hire more Republican lobbyists. Man #2: ? Jeffrey Esposito Lobbyist Jeffrey: Scandals and even modest attempts at reform have upset the delicate equilibrium of their ecosystem. "...confused, they lose their bearings and get stranded outside the beltway." Local volunteers have been keeping the dazed lobbyists hydrated with Pellegrino and Pinot Noir. Man: Now, we will take care of the actual drafting. Experts are certain that the condition is temporary. The lobbyist is a hearty creature, abundant in numbers. Man: The Palm!
