Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Presents: News of the Times General Washington Confident In Benedict Arnold The American people were stunned today, as documents surfaced showing that GEN. BENEDICT ARNOLD plotted to hand over the American fort at West Point to the BRITISH for £20, 000. Man: Hear ye, hear ye! Partisan attacks on Benedict Arnold commence! Ye Fox Town Crier Months ago, General Washington had said: George Washington: Anyone caught handing over to the ENEMY a FORT that would give them control of the Hudson will be FIRED! But he seemed to change his stance once his friend and top advisor, Arnold, was caught. George Washington: I won't comment on this matter until the investigation is done. Right, Benedict? Benedict Arnold: Right. General Washington's spin team went into immediate action. Man: No crime was committed -- the statute prohibiting giving forts to the enemy only covers sales over £25, 000! Man #1: The fact is, the British would have taken that fort ANYWAY. Man #2: Right. And it's not like it was an IMPORTANT fort! Man: Mark my words -- if Arnold is kept as general, his name will become synonymous with patriotism and integrity! Next: ANOTHER fort mysteriously falls to the British!
