Basking in thunderous applause following a speech in which he proposes a plan on prescription drugs, presidential candidate George W. bush turns to his running mate, Dick Cheney, and initiates a Great Dialog of the 21st Century. George W. Bush: Socialist leader and writer Friedrich Engels -- major league doofus. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: Superstring theory -- major league physics breakthrough. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: Herman Melville's Moby Dick -- major league whale book. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: Mexican artist Frida Kahlo -- major league bowser. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: The French Revolution of 1789 -- major league historical event. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: The Cartesian notion that the mind is distinct from the brain -- major league faulty dualistic logical conclusion. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: Joseph Stalin, Soviet Premier, 1941-1953 -- major league pizza-face. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: Major league baseball -- major league league. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: The sudden disappearance of the Maya Civilization -- major league bummer. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. George W. Bush: Benjamin Franklin, 18th century American statesman -- major league horndog. Dick Cheney: Yeah, big time. The applause subsides, and Bush and Cheney exit the stage, leaving the audience unaware that they have just been in the presence of a Great Dialog of the 21st Century.
