born january 8, 1935 remembering elvis died august 16, 1977 iris: i fixed elvis a fried banana-and-sponge sandwich at least once a day for over 16 years. if he didn't get his fried banana-and-sponge sandwich he'd commence to yellin' & carryin'-on & ululatin' & rendin' his garments & walkin' in tight circles & claimin' he'd become death the destroyer of worlds & i don't know whatall. iris duvalle, sous-frycook, memphis recipe combine 2 slices white bread, 1 banana sliced lengthwise 1 kitchen sponge (clean) pan-fry in butter to taste. serve with pork gravy & kudzu. shrub: i never met the man but damn dog came by nearly every day. a shrub, memphis barapti: the elvis of my recollection is the wild young rockabilly, his hair slick with yak butter, reaching your very soul with a honeyed voice & a few easy chords, not the bloated self-caricature of the later years. also his film work with ann-margret stands out. barapti spalambo, tibet. elvis 1: well, yesterday we were all gonna go in the bathroom & overdose on a combination of pharmaceuticals as a, you know, gesture. then we decided, nah, life's too short. elvis: you know what? i'm going to start dressing like robert goulet instead. the elvisionairies, las vegas.
