Mount Rushmore is named after Charles Rushmore, a lawyer who visited the unnamed rock in 1885 and was jokingly told by a guide that it could be named after him, and the name stuck! Pinball was banned in New York until 1976. In the 1600s, midwives brewed Groaning Ale, and extra strong beer fermented for nine months that was designed to ease the pain of childbirth.
