It took Matt Greene and Don Badaczewski 24 hours and 2 minutes in August 2006 to travel the entire subway system in New York City passing through all 468 stations! During World War II, German spies in Britain hid Morris code messages in fashion drawings of dresses! Point D is the corner of the large square and the center of the small one, the large square is rotated so that AB is 2 inches and BC is 4 inches. The large square is 8 inches on a side, and the small square is 6. What is the shared area of the square? Answer: The shared area of the squares is 9 inches! Because D is in the center of the small square, the shared area will always be 1/4 of the small square, regardless of the angle or size of the larger square.
