Peppermint Patty stands in front of the class looking at a sheet of paper. She clears her throat.<BR><BR> She says, "This is my report on 'Hans Brinker or The Silver Skates'."<BR><BR> She continues, "The main emphasis of my report will deal with the strange section that begins on page seventy-two..."<BR><BR> She points her finger in the air and continues, "Here we have the story of the boy who saved the city by placing his finger in the hole of the dike..."<BR><BR> She looks at the sheet and continues, "Thus, he stopped the leak that would have flooded the city...he was a hero!"<BR><BR> She points her finger again and wonders, "However, what if the boy lost the use of his finger? Could the doctor have been sued for improper diagnosis?"<BR><BR> She spreads her hands and continues, "And what if the boy's family brought a personal injury action against the city for failing to properly maintain the dike?"<BR><BR> She continues, "Has anyone ever thought of this? All right, then, suppose we...."<BR><BR> She turns her head to the right and says, "Ma'am?"<BR><BR> She sits at her desk grimacing. She sighs and says, "Another D minus..."<BR><BR>
