Kaanapali Beach, Hawaii S. Pastis says, "Hello?" Woman says, "Stephan, it's your mother. Where are you?" Arcadia, California S. Pastis says ,"I told you, Ma, I'm in Hawaii. I took a couple of weeks off." Woman says, "You been reasing your strips lately?" S. Pastis says, "No. Not at all. Why?" Woman says, "Because everyone is dead! The pig is dead! The zebra is dead! The duck! The cat! The Crocs! They're all in some stupid 'Wonderland' place and getting eaten by some stupid 'Raterpillar' thing!" S. Pastis says, "What are you talking about? This week's strips are about Guard Duck and some cows!!" Woman says, "Think again, my idiot son." S. Pastis says, "Well, who the heck is doing my strip while I'm gone?!?" Pig says, "You're in trouble." Rat says, "Pipe down, fatty. I'm eating the 'Family Circus' kids."
