Homer: What's the end of the ocean, da? Da: The gaping mough of a gigantic fish that swallows people whole and digests you for an eternity. Homer: Cool! What's it called? Da: Curiosity. Now shut up and catch something. Homer in the Dark Ages. Fear rules this bleak and barbaric world as mankind struggles to avoid extinction. The scarcity of food has put a halt to man's progress through art and science as such independent thought is seen as a threat. This is Homer's world, as he grows up in a feudal fishing village called Barkshire... The village is so named because of the dogs who serve as sentries to warn the people of invading inlanders bent on stealing their food supply. The innocence of childhood is short-lived...
