Caption: Nancy debuted in the comic strip Fritzi Ritz by Ernie Bushmiller in 1933. Fritzi adopted her orphaned niece, who soon became the star. The strip's name changed to Nancy in 1938. We're ringing in the New Year with the history of Nancy! Nancy: Rollo is quite rich---And at times a "show-off"---But since the 1940s---The kind of friend money can't buy---Rollo had a special dog-house built for his new pup. Sluggo: Why? Nancy: He's a pedigreed dog. ---With a very long name. Dog house reads: ROYAL PRINCE VICTOR RUDOLPH III
