Caption: Nancy debuted in the comic strip Fritzi Ritz by Ernie Bushmiller in 1933. Fritzi adopted her orphaned niece, who soon became the star. The strip's name changed to Nancy in 1938. We're ringing in the New Year with the history of Nancy! Nancy: Aunt Fritzi wasn't very impressed with SLUGGO at first---Aunt Fritzi, meet my new friend---"SLUGGO" SMITH--- Sluggo: Hi'ya, lady---Nice li'l joint ya got here--- Aunt Fritzi: Nancy---Where'd you meet that little hooligan? Nancy: He beat up a bully who hit me with a snow-ball---Isn't he divine? Sluggo: Beatin' up bullies gives a guy a big appetite---What's for supper, ladies?
