Nancy debuted in the comic strip Fritzi Ritz by Ernie Bushmiller in 1933. Fritzi adopted her orphaned niece, who soon became the star. The strip's name change to Nancy in 1938. We're ringing in the new year with the history of Nancy! It was a cold, snowy day in January when I first met Sluggo- it was clear why he had that nickname- Pow Haw haw What's the big idea, pickin' on dat li'l girl, bud?? Sock How can I ever thank you? You could make me lunch, kiddo-my name's Sluggo Smith- what's yours?
