Nancy debuted in the comic strip Fritzi Ritz by Ernie Bushmiller in 1933. Fritzi adopted her orphaned niece, who soon became the star. The strip's name changed to Nancy in 1938. We're ringing in the New Year with the history of Nancy! Nancy says, "My pal Sluggo always knew how to make the best of a bad situation..." Nancy says, "How's your bad back?" Sluggo says, "The doc says I'll be okay in a week---" Nancy says, "Maybe you'll get better even sooner" Sluggo says, "I hope not" Sluggo says, "I've found lots of money since this happened"
