Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson MOOOOOOM! Phoebe: I had a bad dream. Mother: What was it about? Phoebe: I don't remember. Phoebe: But I know it was scary, because I have this deep, gnawing sense of dread that makes me never want to sleep again. Mother: Aw, honey, you're too young to feel that much existential dread. Mother: Eventually, you'll grow up, and you'll feel low-level existential dread basically all the time, and it'll usually be kind of hard to sleep. Phoebe: I have THAT to look forward to? Mother: Yup. Sorry. Phoebe: Well, that does give me something SPECIFIC to worry about. Mother: Sweet dreams, kiddo.
