FRAZZ BY JEF MALLETT Girl: What do you suppose flowers think when they first pop up above the ground in spring? Girl: Is it kind of like waking up in the morning? Girl: If they sprout into a rainstorm, is it like waking up to pancakes and syrup? Girl: If they push through compost, does it smell to them like scrambled eggs and bacon? Girl: If it's muddy and sloppy, do they feel like it's biscuits and gravy and hash browns? Mrs. Olsen: If it's like morning, they probably just want to go back underground and pull the dirt over their heads but they can't and that's why. Girl: I don't get it. Mrs. Olsen likes flowers and she likes food. Frazz: Oh, but she does not like morning.
