Caulfield: I wish I could predict the future. Frazz: You can. Caulfield: You can not. Frazz: I predict that during 9:30 recess, Mrs. Olsen will sneak out to her car for a smoke. Caulfield: That's not predicting the future! Frazz: I'd say it's the definition of predicting the future. Caulfield: You're just remembering what she always does. Frazz: Exactly. Memory is the creation of a mental model from past experiences. It works the same going frontward or backward. Caulfield: Except you can't be sure of the future. Frazz: You can't be sure of the past. Caulfield: How can you not be sure of something that's already happened? Frazz: Like that book report you didn't turned in? Caulfield: I thought it was due tomorrow. Frazz: Wow. Who saw that coming?
