Widow Doonesbury: An apple pie from scratch! Now that's heartland self-reliance! Why isn't the government doing more to support us? I'm fine, Dear. Well, not fine exactly... Those agri-business people were around again, pressuring me to sell the farm... and if we have one more bad year, we might have to sell. What with the combine broke, and the bank refusing to lend me any more even before the drought! The only thing that really sustains me, Mikey... ... is the thought that one day maybe you'll return to the farm and make a go of it. Mike: Or not. Widow Doonesbury: Or not, right. But a mother can dream.
