Mark: How come I'm not living like my father? Oh... right. I have scruples. Well, dad, you must be pleased by Bush's rout of the public interest! Mark's Dad: What are you babbling about? Mark: Rescinding arsenic standards, undoing mining regulations, eliminating workplace rules - it's like the government's been overthrown by big business! Mark's Dad: Those were all eleventh-hour Clinton policies! They deserved to die! Mark: Oh, yeah? What about Bush's reneging on his campaign pledge to reduce CO2 emissions? Mark's Dad: It wasn't a real promise! Someone slipped it into his speech - like a mickey! Besides, his words were misinterpreted! Saying "I'll support CO2 reductions" was shorthand! Mark: Shorthand? For what? Mark's Dad: "I'll support CO2 reductions when pigs fly"! Mark: Oh, so we can at least agree pigs were involved.
