Mike: An e-mail from Lars? I had no idea he still worked for us... So what am I looking at, Lars? Lars: Our company's internet strategy. I'm proposing that we put all our resources into the development of a shop-bot... a search program that automatically shops on the web. You simply enter what you want, and the bot searches the web for the best price and orders it. It's a whole new paradigm that could transform e-business. Mike: But it negates brand loyalty, which would force companies to cut prices until profit margins disappear. And with no eyballs to read ad banners, the web economy will collapse, and we'll have no one to sell shop-bots to. Lars: Okay, but that's five years out. You only pay me to think three years out. Mike: I'll talk to accounting.
