Mark: Whoa...support for paying down the national debt? There goes the G.O.P.'s candy supply! In case you're just joining us, Chase is trying to explain what the Republican party stands for now. Chase: Tax cuts! We still stand for tax cuts! Mark: But why? Most people feel it's more important to meet our fiscal obligations like social security or the national debt. Chase: Will you listen to yourself? It's embarrassing to hear a democrat talking about the debt! Mark: Well, you guys don't seem to want the issue anymore... Chase: What are you talking about? You stole it from us! Just like you did welfare reform and crime and education and every other middle-class issue! Mark: Gee, I'm sorry Chase... Chase: We want our issues back! You people are so greedy! You've left us nothing! Nothing! Mark: How about the poor? You could always champion the poor! Chase: That's it - throw us your dregs!
