Rev. Sloan: You know, like a lot of people, I wanted to despise Richard Nixon...but as a man of God, I could only disapprove of him! Mike: Gee...that's rough. Rev. Sloan: So, Mike, do you miss kicking around Dick Nixon? Mike: In a way...watching the funeral sure took me back. It was 1970 all over again...authority figures in gray suits defending the indefensible! There was Pete Wilson, using the solemn occasion to accuse the Kennedys of stealing the 1960 election. Adn there was Kissinger, franitcally rewriting his and Nixon's bloody record abroad. And worst of all, there was the media, amnesiac and supine. The new Nixon, no longer criminal, was pronounced "flawed" or "controversial." Incredibly, even in death, Nixon remained undead. You gotta hand it to him - it was the most improbable comeback in memory. We'll never see it's like again! Feather/Quayle: So anyway, I thought I'd test the waughters! Mark: Cool. Why?
