Mike: (Hmmm...is this in the best long-term interests of the company? Who cares?) Ben: You wanted to see me, Jim? Jim: Yeah, come here, Ben. Take a look down on the floor. See the guy with the glasses. He's a temp. He's an experienced creative director, and he's working on a small, in-house publishing project for us. His salary is low, he gets no training, no health benefits, no vacations, and no sick days. In short, he's the perfect employee and he's inspired me to rethink the future. Ben, I've decided to fire everyone - all 6,500 employees of Universal Petroleum - and then re-hire the core players on a consultant basis. I figure the move will cut operating expenses by at least a third, maybe even 40%! What do you think? Ben: What do I think? It's brilliant, big guy! It's a simple, but bold, visionary strategy for the 21st century! Naturally, I love it! When do we start? Jim: "We"?
