Rick: I wonder why they cover sports other than baseball....to each his own, I guess. Joanie: Can you believe this? 8,000 people have already signed up for the marathon this year! Rick: Who says the baby boomers are growing up? Joanie: Oh, c'mon, Rick, haven't you ever wanted to run in a marathon? Rick: Nope. Marathoners tend to be the sort of professional types who like to complain they're too busy for the things that matter. Yet somehow they find the time to train two hours a day for months on end. Spending all those hours running around in circles when you could be with your family just strikes me as amazingly self-centered. Joanie: You're really coming along, know that? Rick: Well, I also get shin splints.
