TV: Ladies and gentlemen, the president of the United States...and let's go a little easier on him this time, okay? Ronald Reagan: Yes, Rick. Rick: Mr. President, I wonder if you could address your growing problem of misstatements during press conferences. Ronald: Well, no, I was hoping you fellas would ask me that. I have here a special envelope containing documentation proving that 9 of my last 14 misstatements had a grain of truth to them. Rick: Which conferences would that cover, sir? Ronald: Let's see...I think it's January 21 and Februrary 14. Rick: Um...you mean Januray 19 and Februrary 11, don't you, sir? Ronald: Well, yes, but there you go again, Rick. The important thing to the American people is that I was right on those facts 10 out of 14 times. I was batting over .900! Let me just explain my success rate in terms everyone can understand.... Man: Oh, no... Man 2: He's doing it again! Rick: Uh...sir that won't be necessary... Ronald: If I take two golf balls and cut them in half... Roland: Somebody stop him! He's going over our heads directly to the people! Rick: Sir? Sir?
