Man: Mr. Kissinger, many of Mr. Reagan's conservative supporters feel that you should be denied a post because you've been soft on Communism. Any comment? Kissinger: Obviously, that is patently absurd. For four years, I directed the most savage bombings in history to keep Southeast Asia from going Communist. The devastation of Cambodia alone was a milestone in the struggle to contain Soviet aggression. Man: Then why did you try so hard to conceal it, sir? Kissinger: Modesty, mostly. Man: But wasn't that a little unfair to your fans, sir?
