Roland: First stop, the left hemisphere of Reagan's cerebrum. Traditionally, this is the home of logic, analysis and critical thinking. Let's take a closer look... as you can see, many nerves in this part of the brain are frayed. The rigors of the campaign trial, particularly the lack of sleep, have taken their toll. Studies have shown that subjects not allowed to sleep and dream become highly disturbed. The brain needs to dream; if deprived at night, it compensates by hallucinating during the day. Seen in this light, Mr. Reagan's ability to reconcile huge tax cuts with massive military spending must be viewed with sympathy.
