Man: Well, time to go see him, Barney. Second Man: I'll join you there, okay? Man: What for? Second Man: I don't like to meet him unprepared. Kissinger: What is it, Mr. Weinburger? Man: Doc, Barney and I couldn't help noticing your recent "I"m available" signals to Reagan. Kissinger: What of it? Man: Well, sir, we were wondering if you knew just how shallow those waters are. Could you really work for a man who confuses Indonesia with Indochina, and Afghanistan with Pakistan? Kissinger: Yes I could, precisely because such a man needs me. Besides, Mr. Weinburger, barring the reincarnation of Thomas Jefferson, I will always work for Presidents less brilliant than I. I am resigned to it. Second Man: But, Professor Kissinger, if you were appointed to a new post, it would be right in the middle of the semester. You'd really be leaving us in the lurch! Kissinger: Don't worry, Mr. Perkins, I can handle both responsibilities. Man: Are you sure, sir? I mean, say it's the day before grades are due, and you were suddenly handed a once in a lifetime opportunity to bomb a major population center back to the stone age. Kissinger: Well, it would depend on the city of course. Second Man: Los Angeles, say. Man: Right. Someplace where life is cheap.
